Diane Staehr Fenner, PhD 

Diane Staehr Fenner, PhD, is the president of SupportEd, a company she founded in 2011 to empower educators of multilingual learners (MLs). A former ELD teacher and specialist, she has authored eight books and is a frequent keynote speaker on ML education across North America. Dr. Staehr Fenner holds a PhD in Multilingual/Multicultural Education.

Sydney Snyder, PhD 

Sydney Snyder, PhD, works with SupportEd to advance advocacy and educational equity for multilingual learners (MLs), building on her earlier experience as an English language development (ELD) teacher. She coaches ML educators, develops and facilitates professional learning, and provides technical assistance to districts on topics such as programming for newcomer students. Dr. Snyder is co-author of Unlocking Multilingual Learners’ Potential and Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners and a contributing author to Breaking Down the Monolingual Wall. With more than 25 years in the field, she began her career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea and later served as an English Teaching Fellow in Indonesia. She earned her PhD in Multilingual/Multicultural Education from George Mason University and an MAT in TESOL from the School for International Training.

Dr. Amy Hewett-Olatunde

Dr. Amy Hewett-Olatunde is a practicing ESL teacher of almost 30 years in St. Paul, Minnesota, working with middle and high school students in all subject areas. She is also an adjunct professor of over 20 years at four universities, specializing in ESL teacher education, writing, and diversity courses. She is the 2015-2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year, among other recognitions afforded by her students elevating her to those platforms. She grew up outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and has lived in both Scandinavia for a number of years before settling in the United States.
