SupportEd to host webinar on Multilingual Learners’ Participation in Secondary Career and Technical Education Programs on January 24

FAIRFAX, VA — SupportEd will hold a free webinar on supporting multilingual learners’ participation in secondary career and technical education (CTE) programs on Wednesday, January 24 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm ET.  

The interactive webinar will be hosted by Meghan Gregoire-Smith, MA, ML Coach at SupportEd. Gregoire-Smith is a thought leader on the topic of Career and Technical Education for multilingual learners. She is also co-author of the upcoming book, Unlocking Multilingual Learners’ Potential: Strategies for Making Content Accessible, and author of the four-part article series, Supporting Multilingual Learners’ Participation in Secondary Career and Technical Education Programs. The webinar will be co-hosted by Becca L’Amour, CTE Instructional Coach at the Renton School District in Renton, Washington. L’Amour has extensive experience with CTE programming and instructional practices.

Webinar participants will discuss the urgency around creating equitable pathways for ML enrollment in CTE programs and supporting MLs currently enrolled in CTE programs, explore five instructional strategy recommendations to advance MLs’ equitable participation in CTE programs, and set a goal for effective CTE programming and instruction for MLs in their context.
